Learning about the different countries provides an opportunity for children to appreciate various cultures and traditions around the world. Every country has its own unique history and culture, hence it is a great way to let children realize that we are all different and learn to respect the diversity of our human world.
For this week, children began by learning about the different flags in Asia. Besides recapping on our Singapore flag, they also learnt about countries like Malaysia, India, Japan, Korea and China.
As they touched on Oceania, the children also learnt about the animals found in Australia like Koala and Kagaroos. As such, they have created a gigantic kangaroo board, from recycled materials, to summarize their learning for the week.
The children from Purvis branch have also visited Jacob Ballas Children's Garden for their outdoor learning journey. They were very excited over this trip.
The children had so much fun exploring the children's maze at the garden.
The children had a fruitful week, gaining new knowledge about the different countries surrounding them and having so much fun being at outdoors. Stay tuned for next week.
